I thought these shoes were very comfortable. I took these to a shoemaker to add velcro to the strap and scuff up the bottoms because I found them slippery.

LOVE how they look, but they are a bit uncomfortable, the back of the shoe peeled my skin, I have to wear bandages when using them. The bottom of the shoe is a bit slippery.

I love these shoes! The back hit my heel at a different spot than I was used to but after wearing them twice, they were broken in and extremely comfortable. I’m on my feet all day at work and these look super cute and still feel great at the end of the day.

Finally a shoe I can wear. I’ve probably ordered and sent back about six pair of shoes. these Mary James are perfect for my feet. They could use a softer bottom inside but I can live with it. Thank you Zappos for your patience with me. I’m now a satisfied customer.?

I was hoping these shoes would be comfortable, but instead they hurt my feet so much. I even order a half size bigger than my normal size and they were so tight they squeezed my feet and caused blisters on the back of both of my feet. I’m very disappointed.

This is not the most stylish shoe, but I need a black shoe or bootie to wear with a casual dress and this fits the best of all the booties and shoes I tried.

Once I got the correct size, size 11 (tried my usual size of 9.5 or 10) they are great shoes. Just what I was looking for. Comfortable and have no issue with the velcro closures like I had on other mary janes that I had previously. Thanks Zappo, for the opportunity to try different sizes and return ship for free. The main reason I shop Zappo, will even pay a little extra for that option.

Very stiff shoe. It was very tight despite having ordered a wide. Sadly had to return.

Note: If you have smaller or narrow feet, these are going to look and feel a little too wide, shown at the video posted at the end of preview images. Very accurate to the picture. I did not find them too slippery when walking indoors through kitchen floors, but other reviews said they were, so the soles may need to be roughed up a little. They feel somewhat flexible when walking, and the sides expand a little when taking a step, making them seem even wider. The back behind the heel on both of them feel extremely rough and becomes rather uncomfortable when walking for longer periods of time because the material is hard and rubs against the back of the heel at the top. I anticipated this and ordered half a size up and inserted a cushion at the back of the heel, which improved the comfort slightly. The top of the strap may be uncomfortable for you as it can press down, the solution is don’t lace them too tight and don’t wear these for running or strenuous athletic activities. There were slight imperfections that are not noticeable at first glance, I show a close up in one of the images. These have a cute style otherwise at a great price, but would look better with a traditional buckle strap instead of a velcro strap.
Summary: Not comfortable, especially at the back. Go up half a size or by one size and have a heel cushion ready, possibly an insole and perhaps something under the strap to maximize comfort. For better traction and safety, don’t use them for running distances and don’t be afraid to scruff up the bottom of the soles.
I am very happy with the purchase and the shipping was fast and reliable. These are great for short walking periods (just add a back cushion)!

Fit was terrible, regular size in Naturalizer was too small, also hard edge at inside top edge back of heel.

I had to try a couple of sizes to find the correct fit. The one that worked for me is 1/2 size up from my normal shoe size. The right shoe cuts into my right heel.
